Welcome to Dar 91, our trio of private, serviced apartments in the old medina (walled town) of Essaouira, on Morocco’s wild and beautiful Atlantic coast.

If you’re looking for a stylish and affordable place to stay, slightly off the beaten track, you’ve come to the right place. Our apartments are quirky, full of character and original works by local artists and artisans, as well as home comforts including fast wifi.

We’re situated in Chbanat, a traditional neighbourhood close to Bab Doukkala and Bab Marrakech. It’s just five minutes to the souks and 10-15 minutes to the beach and harbour.

Dar 91 occupies an imposing 18th century watchtower just within the medina walls. Each apartment is self-contained and can be rented all year round, for short breaks, holidays or longer stays. Apartments 1 (Wahed) and 2 (Zhuzh) have their own roof terraces with stunning views across the medina rooftops. Apartment 3 (Tlata) is a studio with no outside space, and is priced accordingly.

We’ve welcomed guests from all over the world since opening in 2006. We give 5% of our profits to the local community.

Fly to Essaouira (15 minutes away), Marrakech (2.5 hours) or Agadir (3 hours).
